The most common question about villages is “_ _ village, where to?”.

There are many different ways to get to the village, so here is a summary of some of the public transportation and hiking routes:

Bus

Tai Po Market Station To/from Wu Kau Tang (hourly)

Tai Po Market Station To/from Wu Kau Tang (Sundays and public holidays only)

Fanling Station To/from Luk Keng (every 10 – 30 minutes)


Ferry

Ma Liu Shui Round trip Lai Chi Wo / Kat O and Ap Lei Chau

Sam Mun Tsai/Tai Shui Hang Round Trip Lai Chi Wo/Kat O/Ap Chau


【Hiking】

Upon arrival at the minibus/bus station/ferry terminal, you can choose different routes:


Col Route:
Wu Kau Tang ↔ Yama Wat ↔ Fen Shui Au ↔ Lai Chi Wo

Time required: about 1 hour 45 minutes
The section from Wu Kau Tang to A-Ma Wat or the section from Lai Chi Wo to Shun Shui Au has a lot of uphill steps.


Foothills Route:
Wu Jiao Tang ↔ Jiudanren ↔ Shangshang Miaotian or Qiaotoushi ↔ Sanjuan Village ↔ Hiaotan ↔ Lai Chi Wo

Time required: about 3 hours
The road is relatively flat except for the plow stones. Along the way of Upper and Lower Miaotian, there are mountain streams and Sanjuan Bay, the scenery is not bad, but the route is quite long. The three stores in Sanliang Village are good supply points.


Deerhaven ↔ Jigokushima ↔ Fungkeng ↔ Kuipu

Time required: about 1 hour 20 minutes
Except for a 10-minute staircase from and to Fung Hang under the Kaiko Tree, the rest of the trail is flat and suitable for walking.


Lai Chi Wo ↔ Shun Shui Au ↔ Ku Po

Time required: about 2 hours
Shui Shui Au is a depression between Hang Lantern and Jian Guang Dong, with a lot of upward sloping steps.


Lai Chi Wo ↔ So Lo Pun ↔ Yung Shue Au ↔ Ku Po

Time required: about 2 hours and 45 minutes
The four villages are located in valleys and the route goes up and down.

Deerhaven ↔ Jigokushima ↔ Fungkeng ↔ Gokpo ↔ Yung Shue Au ↔ Sokurobun ↔ Lai Chi Wo ↔ Little Beach ↔ Samut Prakarn Village ↔ Shangshang Miaotian ↔ Jiudan Rent ↔ Ujjointen

Duration: about 6 hours 30 minutes
Ultimate long walk with a lot of ups and downs, need to be experienced and well-prepared.
